First cut the allocation down to 512M for the XP VM, yo don't need any more than that to install -- you can change it later if you need to, The XP cd is retail, the Vista Ult cd is retail. I saw that the partition was taking hours, so I rebooted the VPC and host. I started over, same thing, very slow.
